Making, and paying for, bookings

When a booking is made we require a valid credit or debit card number to secure the room. We accept payment by most major credit and debit cards and in cash. Please note that we do reserve the right to request full payment upon arrival or at any time during your stay.

Multiple room bookings

We will require a deposit equal to the full booking fee for the first night’s bookings from groups booking two or more rooms for more than one night.

Cancellations

Our cancellation policy is 48 hours from 9am two days before arrival. After that full payment is due for your stay. Payment will be debited with the charge unless another arrangement is made. It is possible to take out insurance to cover any loss and this is recommended. In the event of non-arrival i.e. no-show, payment will be taken.

If, for any reason, we cannot provide the room(s) booked we will make every effort to find similar accommodation at another guesthouse if you wish and any deposit will be returned.

Exceptions: As we are a small business with only four rooms it means that last minute cancellation of certain types of bookings represents a huge loss of income. We therefore reserve the right to alter this on those occasions. These bookings and their cancellation periods are listed below:

Long stays: four nights or more – two weeks

Multiple: three or more rooms on same night/s – two weeks

Peak demand periods: eg. F1 Grand Prix – four weeks

Check-in and Departure Times

Check in is from 4pm to 7pm Monday to Thursday and 4pm to 6pm unless otherwise arranged. Rooms are available from 2pm for early arrival by arrangement. A self check in option is available for times out side normal arrival. On the day of departure, all rooms should be vacated by 10.30 am except Sunday which is 11am, unless a late check out has been booked or arranged. Please ensure you leave your keys on departure.

Keys

We provide one set of keys for each room. If keys are lost or not returned on departure, we charge a replacement fee of £20 per set. If a reservation has been secured using a credit or debit card, that card will be debited with the replacement fee unless another payment method is offered and approved.

Smoking

Please Note: From 1st July 2007, we are required by law to go “smoke free” and guests will no longer be able to smoke. As accommodation providers we could be fined up to £2500 if we fail to enforce these laws. Regrettably, anyone who has been found to be smoking indoors will be liable to a cleaning charge of up to £250, payable against the credit card held to cover the booking. You are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions by reserving a room.

Smoking sites are available outside.

Pets

Pets are welcome in certain rooms – those with direct access to the outside at an extra cost. The only condition is that none is left in the room unsupervised.

Liability

Amenities at the guesthouse are provided at the user’s risk and no responsibility can be accepted for any injury, loss or damage either personal or to motor vehicles parked on the premises. Any damage or breakages are the responsibility of the person making the booking. We reserve the right to take payment for breakages to the value of over £20 up to ten days after the stay.  Children under 16 must be under strict adult supervision at all times when on the premises or in the grounds.

Allergies

If anyone has an allergy that is likely to be a problem please let us know. Please note: we have two dogs although guests should rarely see them.

Safety 

Emergency information in your room pack must be read on arrival and complied with at all times. We reserve the right to enter the accommodation at any time if there is reason to believe that safety notices are being contravened. Please remember that while you are on the premises you have a duty of care towards other guests.

Lost Property

We have a minimum handling charge of £5.50 for returning guest property, plus postal charges.

If not claimed we hold property for a period of 14 days. It will then be passed to a local charity shop.

Disabled Guests

We are committed to doing all we can to accommodate less able visitors and those with special requirements. If you have any special needs we will be very happy to discuss these with you. Please see our access statement on the main site.

Parking

We have safe parking and there is usually enough space for everyone. Parking is at owners risk, (car and contents).

Overseas Visitors

Overseas guests are required to provide certain information upon arrival such as: passport number, next destination, or identification such as a driving licence.
